  WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS

        AND COMMISSIONS

Throughout my childhood, I was always drawing. However, other than a few private lessons with a watercolor artist during high school, I am self-taught.  Nature has always fascinated me and my love for landscapes was strengthened in Cody, Wyoming, where I was surrounded by beautiful scenery.  With considerable support from my family, I moved from drawing to pen and ink paintings and then on to watercolors. Painting brings me great joy and is something I am compelled to do.

There are many wonderful artists that inspire me but I especially love the works of:  John Stuart Ingle with his details and reflections; Robert Bateman's ability to capture the essence of the animals he paints; and Thomas Moran's and Albert Bierstadt's fantastic landscapes.  With these incredible artists for motivation, I continue to strive to create watercolor paintings that show the beauty we see all around us.

As a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society (CWS), I have participated in a number of member shows including the CWS Botanic Gardens, New Trends and State Watermedia Exhibitions.  I have also exhibited at the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibit, the Castle Rock Artfest; the Littleton History Museum’s Arts and Crafts Show; the Parade of Homes; local galleries; and the Denver Orchid Society shows, where I won “best art collectible” of the show.  My art can be found in private collections locally and around the country, as I especially enjoy working closely with clients to bring their ideas to life through commissioned pieces.
